Support

Wallflower is a quiet reader for Mastodon and Bluesky, on the web and as a native app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. If something isn't working or you have a question, this page is how to reach a person — and a few answers to the questions we hear most.

Contact us

The fastest way to get help is email. We read every message and usually reply within a couple of days.

  • Emailandrew@leahey.org. Tell us your device (web browser, iPhone, iPad, or Mac), which network you're using (Mastodon or Bluesky), and what happened. Screenshots help.
  • Bug reports & feature requests — the same address is fine. If you can, include the steps that led to the problem.

Trying the app without an account

You don't need to sign in to see how Wallflower works. On the web, the home page shows a sample edition. In the iOS and Mac app, choose Demo on the sign-in screen and enter the username demo and password password — that opens a self-contained sample edition (timeline, notifications, threads, profiles, and search) with no account and no network.

Common questions

  • How do I sign in to Mastodon? Enter your server's address (for example mastodon.social) and you'll be sent to your own server to authorize Wallflower. We never see your password — only the access token your server issues.
  • How do I sign in to Bluesky? Use your handle and a Bluesky app password (Bluesky → Settings → App Passwords), not your main password.
  • I'm signed in but nothing loads. This is almost always a hiccup between the app and your server. Pull to refresh, or sign out and back in. If it persists, email us with your server's name.
  • Where's the algorithmic feed / trending / suggested follows? There isn't one, on purpose. Wallflower shows your timeline in time order, with no ranking, ads, or engagement bait.
  • How do I delete my data? Wallflower stores nothing on a server of ours. Signing out clears your access token from the device. See the Privacy page for the full picture.
